GHAMUHYI'S CONCEPT
GhaMuhyi is a fresh composition of traditional music, originating from the Malay Ghazal of the State of Johor, created by Dr Kamarulzaman (also known as Dr. Mantabla).

GhaMuhyi was initiated in December 2014, for submission as a project at the Doctorate level at Institut Seni Indonesia Surakarta.
​
The GhaMuhyi group comprised young musicians who excelled in the traditional Johorian Malay Ghazal. The formation of the group was borne out of the recognition of the great potential & even standing of the traditional Johorian Malay Ghazal with all other music genres in the world.

‘Gha’ is short for Ghazal and ‘Muhyi’ means spiritual growth. Thus GhaMuhyi essentially reflects the innate declaration by the youth of today , of the potential for traditional music to coexist and maintain its uniqueness in the modern world.
Seri Langit
The work, Seri Langit, is to describe the beauty of unity of the sky. Ironically, it is different from the human mind that likes to see something separately.
Toda
Toda is a percussion composition that revives the toda idiom play in traditional ghazal by tabla.
Telunjuk Silir Sirat
Telunjuk Silir Sirat is a composition which describes a human attitude that is silently appose. Using an odd meter to give space for improvisation of Ghazal's emblishment (Lenggok and Patah Lagu).
Ghanyi
Ghanyi is a musical composition featuring vocalization techniques for the idioms of ghazal's instrument as through the imitation process.
Bunga
Bunga is refer to the emblishment in the ghazal music which is used as a source of musical ideas.
